On 23rd August 2018, Year One students from RVRC visited Fusionopolis at One North. This Industry visit was arranged and hosted by Mr. Akshay Regulagedda, Manager of New Estate Division in the Jurong Town Corporation (JTC). Mr. Regulagedda, along with his colleagues, talked about the transition of the One North region from an Industrial zone in the 1960s to the business park it is today, with a focus on the Work-Play-Live-Learn concept. He described One North as the crown jewel of JTC, as it was designed to support the growth of various industries such as biomedical science, information technology, and media.

The space Launchpad is used to nurture startups and stimulate innovative minds. It aims to create a work-life balance with strategically developed residential, retail and recreational zones. Today, several global corporations such as Apple, Ubisoft and GSK have stationed their headquarters in their Singapore branch at One North, a symbol that it is truly a world class development.

As the session drew to a close, Mr. Regulagedda described JTC's future plans for One North 2040, which includes improved connectivity and sustainable development. Students learned about the career and internship opportunities at JTC, with One North catering to students in most faculties.
