On 5th September 2018, RVRC hosted Mr Gabriel Yeo, Project Manager and Senior Surveyor at DNV GL, for a dialogue with Year One students. Gabriel gave an exciting and engaging talk that outlined how he chose his career path and many of the interesting developments throughout his career as a Maritime Engineer. This was followed by an interactive dialogue where Gabriel shared several insightful stories about his work, as well as facets of DNV GL’s business model that exemplified its commitment to sustainable development. After the dialogue, several students also took the opportunity to engage Gabriel to get an insider sensing of what an engineering career is like. This was indeed a meaningful opportunity as students got to learn how sustainability was practiced in the industry, and gained valuable insights on how they should go about choosing their future career.
