On 19 August, 25 RVRC students visited Social Collider on our first industry visit for the year. Social Collider is a collaborative, co-working, and co-innovation community for impact organisations in the heart of Singapore’s tech ecosystem. We were pleasantly hosted by Social Collider’s Founder and CEO, Russ, who shared about the social entrepreneurship scene in Singapore as well as his personal experiences which led him to do what he does today. Additionally, Russ also shared about Fairmarch (www.fairmarch.com), an e-commerce platform to support impact organisations in society.
There was also a sharing from Hatch, one of the social enterprises incubated within the space. Hatch is a training and job-matching social enterprise which empowers youth from all walks of life, regardless of their level of education. Victor, Hatch’s Founder, shared about the work that Hatch does, as well as the business model it operates to achieve financial sustainability. As an alumnus and current senior of RVRC, Victor also shared about his experiences founding a startup and how the wonderful community within the college helped him in his journey.
