GEQ1917 Understanding and Critiquing Sustainability was an essential year-long module for RVRC Year One students from AY 2014/15 - 2020/21, with an emphasis on the RVRC mission to encourage students to care about environmental sustainability. The module invited students to embark on a journey of exploring sustainability issues, ranging from global environmental change, resource crises, the demands of the built environment as well as the sustainability of our lifestyles. Students were required to apply critical enquiry skills when they examined these issues during tutorials and small group discussions. The module culminated annually with the 'Action for Sustainability Symposium' featuring student projects that addressed local sustainability problems in Singapore, and engaged other educators, industry partners, and government agencies to achieve an impact beyond the RVRC community.
