RVRC Fellow Sadaf Ansari ran ArtJam for 4 hours daily from 18th to 22nd April. A total of 55 students participated and 10 members of staff and their family members attended the sessions held in the Flex Theme Room. The ArtJam was conceived as a series of interactive and hands-on art therapy sessions to enable students to take a break from studying for finals during Reading Week. The workshops adopted a drop-in policy to encourage students to participate whenever they were free or needed a break from their study schedule. To make the arts session more fun, most students attended in the company of their friends.
The art form used in the ArtJam sessions is called Acrylic Pour Painting, a technique that needs no paining skills and which is suitable for total beginners. The resulting creative artworks are currently on display at the Dining Hall.
