TLRC

RVRC hosted the Teaching and Learning at Residential Colleges Colloquium 2022 (TLRC 2022) on 22nd September.

The annual colloquium is a collaboration amongst the NUS Residential Colleges. TLRC 2022 aimed to provide a platform through which educators and students of Residential Colleges (RCs) at NUS can share their teaching, living, and learning experiences in RCs, engage in scholarly conversations centred on teaching and learning practices in RCs, and discuss their engagement in living and learning programmes offered by RCs.

This year’s theme Enabling Co-living, Co-learning, and Co-llaborative Environments in Residential Colleges” enabled participants to:

  1. Reflect on strategies, practices, and approaches used by educators and students to foster a culture of partnership, interdependency, and holistic learning and growth, in one’s residential community
  2. Propose and/or evidence innovative and intentional efforts to foster educator-student and/or student-student collaborations across the living and learning environments of RCs
  3. Evaluate engagements that are designed to be meaningful and impactful to students, and how these engagements have been enabled or facilitated in RCs.

RVRC was well represented at the event with speakers and attendees. We were proud to have RVRC students Jonathan Lee and Lee Wan Xin (in absentia), and educators Desmond Ng, Dr. Eunice Ng, and Patricia Lorenz present at the colloquium, supported by a mixed audience of students and educators from all residential colleges.

The event saw a high participation rate with around 55 attendees, creating a great opportunity for educators and students to interact with and learn from each other. Having students involved as presenters and co-presenters was a clear standout and highlight of TLRC 2022, and we thank our students for their contributions!
