Selected RVRC students had the exclusive opportunity to attend The Earthshot Prize 2023 Awards Ceremony on 7th Nov 2023. Founded by Prince William, @earthshotprize is a prestigious global environmental prize for climate solutions, where 5 winners are awarded £1 million to scale up their solutions to enable communities, oceans, and biodiversity to continue thriving in ecological harmony. 💚
The exciting performances and star-studded line up of presenters left RVRC students in awe, including actresses Cate Blanchett, Lana Condor, actor Donnie Yen and Australian conservationist Robert Irwin. But the greatest takeaway was to be able to hear and learn about the shortlisted projects from passionate and dedicated innovators, policymakers, and activists about their efforts to protect the Earth. 🍃🌏 These inspirational stories gave RVRC students a renewed hope for our planet's future!

Attending the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony wasn't on my 2023 bingo card, but it was an absolute privilege to be part of the magic! The night was star-studded, and the showcased projects were incredibly fascinating and ingenious. I highly recommend checking them out! Personally, Sea Forest caught my attention—a startup aiming to decrease methane production from livestock by integrating Asparagopsis, a type of seaweed, as a feed supplement. Thank you RVRC & NUS Sustainability for this amazing opportunity 🙂
