The RVRC 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner was a remarkable celebration filled with inspiring moments and engaging performances. The evening kicked off with a commemorative speech by RVRC Master Sim Tick Ngee, who celebrated the college's decade of achievements. Following this, the audience was treated to entertaining musical performances by RVRC's Jukebox and the winners of the RV10 Song Writing competition, Gaston Liew and Aaron Lim. Speeches by RVRC Rector Dr. Noeleen Heyzer and RVRC's inaugural Director of Studies, Associate Professor Lee Kooi Cheng, added depth to the celebration, highlighting the college’s impact over the years. Guests were further entertained by a vibrant dance performance from the NUS Dance Ensemble, adding an artistic flair to the event.
Brandon Lau, Project Director for the RV10 Gala Dinner shared that "Leading the organizing committee in planning this gala dinner has been an absolute pleasure as we celebrate the pivotal impact that RVRC has had on its residents, not only in their educational journey but also in shaping their personal growth and fostering lifelong friendships through the communities in RVRC over the past 10 years. Witnessing the different generations of the RVRC community come together to honour the college that has served as our home away from home has been a truly heartwarming experience."
A heartfelt video message from RVRC's founding College Master, Professor Adekunle Adeyeye, offered reflections on RVRC's journey, reminding everyone of the strong foundation upon which the college was built. The evening culminated in a joyful RV10 cake cutting ceremony, uniting staff and students in celebration. Finally, a special video/photo montage showcased cherished memories from both current and past staff, as well as alumni, evoking a sense of nostalgia and community. This was captured aptly by this reflection by Zhang Xiangyu Oliver, RVRC Alumnus, "Having resided in RVRC throughout undergrad, it was great to reconnect with the people who have made my journey memorable, and celebrate the countless milestones of the college since inception. With the unyielding passion of our staff, and the unbridled curiosity of our students, I am confident RVRC will continue to inspire the next generation in the next decade and beyond. Thank you to the organising committee for making this an exceptional RV10 Gala Dinner and happy 10th anniversary RVRC!"
