House Committee

House committees play a crucial role in fostering community and enhancing the residential experience for RVRC residents. Each of the seven house committees is led by two house heads, who are elected by the house's current residents. House committees work closely with their respective Resident Fellows and Resident Assistants to promote a sense of belonging within each house through various house events and activities.

AONYX House Head: Cleavant Ong

Our mascot is Anonyx cinereus, the Asian Small-clawed Otter, a gregarious animal that is rarely seen alone. Like our mascot, we are very social and like to hang out in groups that might comprise up to 10 individuals.

CHELONIA House Head: Tan Wei Ting

Our mascot is Chelonia mydas, the Green Sea Turtle, a vegetarian ocean dweller. We might not be able to see as well as our mascot underwater, but every Chelonia will always keep a watch-out for others and have an open ear.

MANIS House Head: Chua Qi Heng

Our mascot is Manis javanica, the Sunda Pangolin, an unmistakable inhabitant of South-East Asia. Our mascot also carries its young, and likewise we Manis support each other in the time of need.

ORCAELLA House Head: Ng Wenyu

Our mascot is Orcaella brevirostris, the Irrawaddy Dolphin, a highly social animal. Like our mascot, we are usually found in small groups, and we cherish the bonds with our fellow Orcaellas. We are fond of exploring our favourite places together.

Panthera House Head: Samuel Tham Jeun Fei

Our mascot is Panthera tigris, the Malayan Tiger. Like our mascot, we pride ourselves with our adaptability. While Pantheras live in their own rooms, they love to share the common spaces with all their fellows.

Our mascot is Rusa unicolor, the Sambar deer, a highly variable animal. Like our mascot, we love to gather in small groups, but we prefer to use more vocal means of communication. Like our mascot we Rusas will always defend each other.

STRIX House Head: Teo Gui Jun Vera

Our mascot is Strix seloputo, the Spotted Wood Owl, an attractive earless owl. We follow the Strix style – we are extremely loyal and are often seen in company. Like our mascot, we stay alert, and we always take care of each other.
