RVRC DIV to ECP for BCA Shoreline Restoration

Exposure to industry opportunities for the diverse student body is one of the key elements implicitly emphasized in the Year One Programme at Ridge View Residential College. RVRC organised an industry visit to East Cast Park in collaboration with Building Construction Authority (BCA) on 9 February 2018 as part of its DIV series. The objective was to understand the various shoreline restoration and coastal adaptation strategies adopted by BCA to combat sea level rise resulting from climate change. The visit included a walking tour to see the installations firsthand on site at ECP.
Dr Ryan Nguyen (BCA) shared detailed technical aspects of shoreline erosion and strategies adopted for mitigation, along with Mr. Ho Chai Teck sharing an overview of the overall strategy for Singapore. The visit ended with a discussion of potential internship opportunities at BCA.
