RVRC DIV-Dialogue with Ms Kia Jie Hui
Ms. Kia Jie Hui, Senior Sustainability Advisor at Forum for the Future, was the invited speaker for a dialogue session with year one RVRC students on March 12th. Ms. Kia is responsible for driving sustainability developments for Forum at their APAC office in Singapore, helping businesses across the region to use future trends, visions and scenarios to truly embed sustainability into their long-term strategic business plans. She began her dialogue with sharing about these endeavours using case examples of recently completed projects to drive home the critical role of adopting holistic sustainability practices.
While talking about the future of sustainability, Ms. Kia also shared about her own professional journey and highlighted her belief that small beginnings at university can often grow and lead to unforeseen opportunities later in life. She was speaking from her personal experience with starting 'Save the Pen' while she was a USP scholar at NUS during her undergraduate years. Her talk ended with a discussion of some of the current sustainability projects being undertaken by students at RVRC as part of their GEQ1917 module in Year One.
