The RVSS1002 module hosted Ms. Aries Chan, from @nasilemakindulgence to share her journey from a home baker to a hawker-preuner. Ms. Chan inspired everyone with her tenacity and grit as she recalled her many ups and downs; from difficult customers to what it took to find that perfect recipe for blue pea nasi lemak rice. The audience was treated to an insider story of what really happens behind the hawker scene.
This talk is also part of RVRC's series of dialogues with emerging and established professionals to enable our students to have the opportunity to directly engage and learn from them.
RVSS1002, Feeding the Belly of a Nation, is an RVRC module offered in the Singapore Studies Pillar under the NUS enhanced General Education curriculum. This module blends in classroom discussion, fieldtrips and engagement with practitioners in Singapore’s agriculture and hawker food trade.
