Ridge View Residential College kicked off the 2026 academic year in style with Solarius, our freshmen orientation programme that was all about shooting for the stars, literally and figuratively. Themed around the cosmos, Solarius brought together our newest RVRC residents for an experience that was equal parts hype, heart, and genuine human connection. From high-energy station games to quieter moments of reflection, every part of Solarius was designed to help participants find their footing and connect.

Across the three days, freshmen navigated galaxy-inspired team challenges, collaborated on missions that tested creativity and communication, and got a real taste of what life at RVRC looks and feels like. Whether you were decoding a cosmic puzzle or just vibing with your orientation group, those moments of figuring things out together was exactly what Solarius was built for.

None of this happened by accident. A massive shoutout to every student organiser, OG leader, and volunteer who poured their energy into making Solarius, from the late-night planning sessions to the on-the-ground hustle during the event itself. To our partners and welfare teams who kept everything running safely and smoothly, and to every freshman who jumped in with full energy and an open mind, thank you! You all made the constellation complete.

Now that Solarius has set the trajectory, the real adventure begins. Get involved in house activities, say yes to the things that scare you a little, and check in on the people around you. Community doesn't build itself; explore the interest groups, step into leadership, and lean on your student leaders and staff mentors whenever you need a signal boost.
