RVRC students hosted Ms Denise Phua (MP for Jalan-Besar GRC), co-founder of Pathlight School and the Mayor of Central Singapore Community Development Council. Ms Phua shared how she transitioned from a corporate career to becoming a full-time volunteer, which then led her to ‘accidentally’ become a politician. Her engaging, personal and inspiring talk centred on her commitment to work for a wide range of special needs individuals and families.

Ms Phua shared several anecdotes from her experiences in the corporate world, volunteer activities and political endeavours to highlight critical workplace lessons for students. She also shared career advice for students by highlighting the 4Ts- tenacity, team, toolkit and a T.O.P. model.

The dialogue session was organised by Ms May Koh (Resident Fellow and Senior Manager, RVRC) and helmed by RVRC Senior Li Shuen (Year 3, Business).
