On the 11th of October, Ridge View Residential College organised a visit to Micron Technology’s Fab 10 semiconductor fabrication plant. Students had the opportunity to tour the compound in order to observe the various automation technologies incorporated into the fabrication process as well as learnt how Micron achieved the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Platinum Award– the highest honour for environmentally sustainable design, through its use of solar energy, energy efficient windows, rainwater purification as well as waste reduction technologies. The experience provided RVRC students with an exemplary case study of Corporate Social Responsibility efforts towards sustainability
