A group of RVRC students worked in close collaboration with Special Olympics Singapore to organize a swimming competition for  special needs athletes on 28 September at NUS. Organised by RVRC Associate Director of Student Life Mr. Desmond Ng, the event was part of an RVRC Year 2 Forum on the theme of Respect. Students learnt and applied event management skills such as creating, coordinating and managing different components of an event. However, the most meaningful learning for students was embedded in their interactions with special needs individuals and exemplified by the Special Olympics athlete's oath: "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."

I was pleasantly surprised that Salihin was interning at Special Olympics SG, really proving that SOSG is all about giving opportunities for our special needs friends wherever possible. He was such a wonderful and friendly partner
