RVN1000

As part of RVRC's new GE module on Communities and Engagement (RVN1000), the college has partnered with the Foodscape Collective who tend to the Biodiverse Edible Garden @Jurong Central Park. By participating in a series of interactive fieldtrips, our students learn from and collaborate with the local community effort on a sustainable food system! In the words of one of our Year 1 students, ‘Working and interacting with the community made me reflect deeper on our shifting attitude towards nature, beyond just conversations of sustainability!’

More about RVN1000:

This interdisciplinary module takes a close look at resource consumption and the resulting sustainability issues, through a holistic analysis of the underlying social, environmental and economic drivers. Through field trips and direct engagement, students work closely with local communities on sustainability solutions. Synthesizing these learning experiences, students position themselves on the issue of resource consumption and sustainability, with respect to the role of the industry, the community and the individual.
